We couldn't say enough good things about our stay with you and Steve and all your precious animals. We were booked at the Hampton Inn and that didn't sit well with us. I am so glad we requested some local flavor. Your home is absolutely spectacular as is the backdrop. We so appreciated you taking us to the market Saturday morning as well. You made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and the pancakes that we had later in the trip didn't compare to Steve's. The rest of our vacation was great. It was definitely on the beaten path as Steve put it but it was great fun. The zip lining in Arenal was unbelievable and at least for me, crazy scary. We enjoyed Manuel Antonio too but it was pretty crowded being Holy week. We are planning on coming back to Costa Rica again hopefully not in the too distant future and we'll for sure look at your recommendations.

I’m glad you had a great visit with your stateside family. We did go to the Central Market before our flight out. We found a covered parking garage that looked well-monitored and didn’t have any trouble thankfully. We walked through the streets and market about an hour and picked up some souvenirs. Staying at your place was a great way to end our trip and we appreciate your hospitality. Our only problem was waking up at 4 a.m. when Sophie was trying to open the bedroom door, anxious to go feed the dogs!

He was part driver, part tour guide, and a big part good company. We learned a great deal about Costa Rica during our drive and would have missed so much by driving ourselves. We met a couple on one of our tours who rented a car. They were wondering why all the people stopped at the big bridge and were looking over the edge. No one told them about the crocodiles. Just one little piece we would have missed if we had not had Luis. It was also so helpful that his English was wonderful. Blessings to you both. I have to say, it was the best breakfast we had during our entire trip (not the rest of the food was bad, Steve is just a great cook). Thanks for suggesting the map to us. Once we figured out the way the roads in Costa Rica worked, we got where we we needed to with only a couple minor detours. I took an embarassing amount of photos and the kids had a blast. All three kids got up on surfboards when we were in Tamarindo! Next time we visit, we'll definately stay at your place. We have begun and ended our last three visits to beautiful Costa Rica with a stay at Casa Bella Rita. The new owners are every bit as welcoming and hospitable as the former. It was delightful not only to have wonderful breakfasts, but also splendid home cooked dinners. To be able to stay away from the noise of San Jose and be treated to the beautiful view of canyon and country side was a great blessing. Former guest -- go for it. You will not be disappointed.

It is my pleasure to recommend Casa Bella Rita as the best bed and breakfast in Costa Rica and one of the best I have ever stayed in during my world travels. One plus not mentioned in their web site is that their kitchen can produce some wonderful dinners and it does not take much arm twisting to get Steve to prepare an outstanding meal. Rita seems to be able to come up with the perfect complimenting wine and interesting guests to making the dining experience memorable. I also need to mention Erick, a hard working employee, with his mischievous smile, reminder of days gone bye. Thanks Rita and Steve for taking Casa Bella Rita to the next step.
